The Family's Search
David Dixon is leading the search efforts for his older brother Michael. The search for Michael began on the 26th October. The family only discovered he was missing when he didn’t turn up to work on Monday morning, which was very unlike him. His brother contacted the hotel in Tamarindo, Costa Rica immediately only to be informed that he had already been missing for over a week.
David travelled with his cousins to Tamarindo, Costa Rica in order to carry out the search for Michael. Despite air, sea and land searches there has been no success in trying to determine what could have happened to him.
Friends and family have participated by either directly helping in the search efforts, raising funds through charity event, donating or recording appeal messages in different languages. There is even a Facebook group page set up which currently has over 3200 members.
The family has been in contact with the media to keep the story alive and make as many people as possible aware of the situation. There have been several media reports of Michael’s disappearance.
